Chemistry and Life Sciences
« Inventions in the Life Sciences and Chemistry field are difficult to protect. They require both that the technical aspects are well understood by the Consultant and that the specificities of the patent law in these technical fields are mastered: it is a question of meeting the particular demands in terms of substance and form which do not exist in other fields.
Moreover, certain inventions cannot be patented, notably for bioethical reasons, whilst others need particular arrangements to meet the demand for sufficient description (the filing of biological material, nucleotide sequences in a certain format etc.) »
